I instinctively turn off my "game spotting radar" when I enter my city limits. Thankfully, my daughter did not... Spotted these ten turkeys happily feasting in quite possibly the last piece of agricultural land left in the GTA south of Hwy 7, in Markham north side of Toronto.

Warden and Hwy 7, SE corner. Six lanes of traffic going in four directions, had to strategically fake a breakdown to get my daughter to snap the pics. Crazy-busy area, tons and tons of new construction going on but no two fooqs given by these crazy feathered Zoombas. Pic was taken just about where the "Markham" title sits, in the middle of the map.

Not as city as your sighting but just north of courtice rd exit there a huge group. Maybe 50-60 Turkeys.

Theres a group of about 100 in town in Lindsay that just killing me everytime I head into town lol.

Its just not fair

I see them quite often in that area. I hope they don't go too far South or the Torontonians will Panic mistaking them as Omens of an Apocalypse!!!!!! I'm getting my right Hip Replaced December 31 which will give me time to heal for the Spring and our next Bird!!!!

on Hwy 48 just north of Elgin Mills on the west side there are about 40 turkeys I see all the time around the brush. Just on the west end of Markham Airport. Nice to see.

I’ve been watching those same 10 birds for quite a while. 4 big toms in the group. They are there every day from sunrise until about 2:00. If you drive by at dusk, there are 6 deer that frequent the exact same spot. 2 spikers and 1 large buck

These are the same group birds...

That piece of property connects into the rouge river greenbelt. Lots of wildlife in that tract. Heck, there was even a bull moose in the area a couple years back.

I have some "resident" mule and whitetail bucks that live around the house. It's always frustrating to come home from an unsuccessful hunt and have a 140 in whitetail or 160 in mule deer grazing in your yard...

Rat trap on a cord with a grasshopper for bait pulled into the house through a convenient pet door.I know ........I'll go stand in the corner for a spell.

Urban turkeys can be the ultimate #######s. I know a guy that lives in the city and he has begged me to come get rid of the turkeys on his 2 acre property in downtown Mississauga.

In the spring the turkeys roost in the park and come to his lawn to strut everyday. They wake him up in the morning by pecking at his bedroom windows(turkeys see their own reflection)

Then the sun comes up enough then that side of the house is in the shade and the turkeys move to the laneway and start pecking and spurring his truck. (They see their reflection in the chrome bumper)

Hes telling me this story and he's completely serious and pissed right off by them. I'm standing there biting my tongue trying not to laugh. He literally wanted me to bring my hounds into town to kill or chase them away or even my crossbow and just kill them all.

I love it, This guy keeps his horse at our one barn and doesn't get that we hunt, Now that wildlife is bothering him he wants it all killed. Funny how that works.

I grew up in Clarkson, small corner of Mississauga. My parents now send me pictures of Wild turkey from their front lawn and coyote running down their street. Both are a normal occurrence. This is about QEW and Winston Churchill. The Petro Canada plant down on lakeshore also houses some Monster bucks, can often see people feeding the deer carrots through the fence.
