I am travelling to the US this weekend,,I am planning to buy a RCSB reloading set. Any thing I should know about,,that is can I bring it back ???

yes. just not components.

x2, be careful cause in the US the retailers will try you the components aren't a big deal.

The press is totally fine, as a point, when going into the US, if you tell them your going to a gun store, they'll treat you like a terrorist

I won't be mentioning the gun store,,,,,I did call Canada Customes the ysaid no problem either. Just a little nervous ,,,payiong $380.00 canadain and having to leave it at the air port..yuck

I just brought back a press, dies, a lead melting furnace, mold handles, and s couple of bottles of bullet lube. Declaired it at customs - Ft. Erie Ontario. They asked me if I had any bullets, powder...and I cut them off with a smile and said.

"I am VERY aware of what our import regulations are, as well as the US export regulations and I've been VERY careful to make sure I'm not stepping on anyone's toes"

Reply was "Thank you sir and have a nice day" and we drove off.

Here's an easy way to remember it. If it is a gun, fits on a gun, or goes in a gun, you can't bring it back. Other than that, you're good. The only thing that goes IN a gun you CAN bring back is a cleaning rod. Bullet moulds, dies, gun cases, cleaning supplies...all good, no problems...yet.

I don't know if you want to be trying to bring that stuff on a plane though. You'll almost certainly be unpacking it to show them, checked or not. I got one of those "Department of Homeland Secruity has inspected your bag as per section ....blah blah blah. In the future, here are some tips on packing your bag....blah blah. I had my laptop buried dead center in my bag with clothes all around it, so they opened it to have a look I guess.

Magazines of legal Canadian capacities are legal to export out of USA and into Canada as well without paperwork. US$100 total may apply thou.

Magazines of legal Canadian capacities are legal to export out of USA and into Canada IF the exporter is a licenced exporter and fills out the appropriate forms (SED), and IF the manufacturer of the magazines is registered with the US State Department, and IF the value is less than US$100 at wholesale.
A Canadian shopping in the US cannot obtain a US export licence.

:D Mac, I wouldn't go out of my way to mention the gun store either. Its not necessary. That said, on one of my travels via Detroit Intl. airport I was wearing a t-shirt with a HK logo on it and it got noticed. The US immigration officer and I had a pleasant chat about IPSC/USPSA and I continued, uninterrupted, on my way. Nice guy!

Too much WAB mentality on here at times.

There is a post in this forum on some pretty unfortuntate observations on my RCBS made presses. You might want to have a look before spending your money.

I would strongly recommend the new Lee breech lock press. If you go this route, buy a bunch of the breech lock inserts for your dies.

By the time you pay the exchange and taxes, you won't have saved much. Equipment is fine though.
"...Lee..." Lee's warrantee is not as good as RCBS' warrantee. Who cares where the RCBS casting is made?
"...US immigration officer..." Homeland Security. Good bunch for the most part. Had the same kind of contact, twice, with 'em, in Port Huron, when heading to Second Chance long ago. Chatted, well listened to his vacation stories, with the first guy. Same thing with the inside guy after being sent in by the part time girl(two guys going shooting for a week. "How much ammo do you have?", she says. Lied. Handed the inside guy the match bulletin. "Geez, never been to that one." On our way 5 minutes later. Crossed one time, very long ago, with my ma and a buddy. Told 'em we were going to waste some time, drink some Budweiser(young and inexperienced then) and eat. "Have a good time."
