US Army May Field More Powerful Sniper Rifle

Why is the US military so anti .338LM? Seems to be the logical fit for such a role, many other NATO countries are already fielding it. Why stick with the .300WM, seems to be a waste project to only get a few hundred more meters out of a .308. Use the .338LM, perfect for the role.

Duh - cuz it's not American, so it can't be as good.

Haha the US Army will use a sporting cartridge over a NATO designated long range sniper round. Good job chaps, just like when you adopted the m14 over the FAL.

The U.S. military doesnt seem to use much logic in adopting anything at times! I prefer the .300Win Mag. my self simply due to my econonmic ability to shoot it enough to be proficient (for my personal ability) at long range. Lots of trigger time equals a better shooter.

If I could afford to shoot the 338Lapua "ALLOT" as well, I would most certainly prefer it. A bigger cartidge like the Lapua is simply better for the "application". Both are fun to shoot. Have fun and straight shoot'in guys!
