I'll be down in Detroit this weekend and was considering picking up a stock for my M14...question is, are there any restrictions on exporting firearm components out of the US?

You can export a M1A stock without paperwork, just pay yer duty at the border. A M14 stock can't be exported, material for war. So just make sure you buy a M1A stock. Should be easy since they are practicly identical, and thats all the hints you get from me :D

"...pay yer duty..." And both taxes, if it's an M1A stock. ALL M-14 parts are on the U.S. 'restricted export' list. Stocks are parts. No exporting without their permit. If and when you get caught by the U.S. Customs types, both you and the retailer will be charged under U.S. law.

Thanks for the head's up boys...it'll be an M1A stock for me. I'm glad I asked because last thing I need right now is to fall foul of US customs - or any law enforcment agency now that I think about it. But you know what really get's me - I called those guys this afternoon and asked if I could export a stock for an M14 without any paper work and the guy told me I could. I'm glad I asked.
Thanks again!:dancingbanana:

Filip: It's just not worth all the legal fallout if you get caught on the US side of the border. The Kanada Kustoms folks don't really care....

Oh the good old days.... 1987 when we bought USGI bolts for $ 35 and the US ARMY was throwing out boxes and boxes of surplus M14 parts since the M16A2 ruled the roost....

I think you enjoy watching grown men cry. Or at least picturing it in your mind.
