US made Tavor price announced

LOL That is a joke right?

They are more in the $3000 price range. That is some elegant rounding down you are doing :p

I acquired a minty Gen 1.5 Tavor with perhaps 200 rounds down the pipe for $2,300 a few months back. I've got $1,400 into my other Tavor CTAR, and I have two friends that each acquired one for between $1,600-$1,800 (used, naturally).

So no, I'm not joking. There are deals to be found out there, but they don't exactly advertise themselves all the time on the EE.

We will be a stocking dealer in the New Year and we will carry the Non Restricted version.... Just for Canada....

Great... Seeing as how none of the US models feature a non-restricted factory barrel, though - will you be:

a) Obtaining these directly from IWI in Israel?
b) Contracting a special Canadian barrel run from the US manufacturer?
c) Sourcing these from a third party (and if so, what type of barrel and specifics will it feature)?

We have ordered all of them with a compliant barrel for Canada, we have been allocated stock, like everything else we are waiting for the trucks to come and they will be no where near 3000.00 a gun. You will pay the same as we sell them for in the US of course plus 25.00 to ship it to Canada and 100.00 to cover the importation.

We have some very exciting things planned for next year..... We are just getting started!!!

Warmest Regards,

Blaxsun. stop taking words out of my mouth. Thats exactly what I was going to ask.

"Great minds..." - maybe it's the "Idle hands" one. ;)

Interested by "new year" considering the Americans are expecting them in April

"New Year" to you and I = just over 2 weeks. "New Year" in the firearms community = sometime in the next 12 months. ;)

this is good news. I cant wait to see more tavors in the hands of Canadians :D . I wouldn't mind one myself someday.

Let's not jump the shark folks... This is a different model (Tavor SAR). It may have to go through the entire FRT submission/FRT approval process prior. Unless you want your SAR potentially ending up on a shipping pallet in customs for a year...

Here is the FRT

126799

5 223 REM 5 380 Non-Commercial Customization Restricted CC 84(1) "restricted firearm" para. (b)
3 223 REM 5 475 Non-Commercial Customization Non-Restricted CC 2 "firearm"
4 223 REM 20 475 Manufacturer Specifications and Commercial Customization Non-Restricted CC 2 "firearm"
1 5.56MM NATO 5 475 Non-Commercial Customization Non-Restricted CC 2 "firearm"
2 5.56MM NATO 20 475 Manufacturer Specifications and Commercial Customization Non-Restricted CC 2 "firearm"

Number 3 or number 1 is what you want....

As far as receiving stock in the New Year....Allocated can be taken a number of ways... I will know more as I have dealer shows in SC, FL, NV.....

No. This is the FRT for the IWI Israeli commercial version of the TAR-21. You're attempting to import the IWI USA SAR-21 rifle, manufactured in the US - and with a different fire control group.

Maybe they'll allow it under the existing FRT (under a different sub number), or maybe they'll require a physical sample of the new SAR for inspection to assign a new FRT number (this process can take upwards of 6-12 months).

If you're already run this by the RCMP Firearms Lab and been given their consent to this in writing, then by all means - sell away. Otherwise, before posting that the US Tavor SAR is going to be available in Canada within a few months (and for less) - you may want to make sure you can first honor those commitments.

Hard to find info on the IWI SAR-21, found some for the IWI STAR-21 though =o).
Now the SAR-21 from Singapore looks just as cool!!!

Very interested!

We will be bringing this product in from the distributor we use with a Cdn legal barrel also.

Guess the question is.......will you support an American Canadian importer.......or a Canadian Canadian importer. Like the Serbu...it'll be MSRP plus import fee costs. And non of this "5 month pre-sale garbage either". So I'm guessing under 2k. Seems the Kanadian monopolies are a disapearing !!

Cheers

It will be interesting that's for sure. For those thinking this will lower the price of the Israeli Tavor rifles. Probably not much if at all. You can buy other firearms from the US or their country of origin. The country of origin ones are usually prefered and often command a higher price. The SIG AR15 patrol carbine for example. The German ones are still a fair amount more than the US ones. Some don't care, some want the German made ones.

I could see buying an American one but Ill still be keeping my Israeli one.

Providing the FRT number stuff pans out it will be good to see mire people shooting Tavor rifles. They are a lot of fun.
