It's almost like it's an entirely different country with different regulations and a consumer base much larger than Canada.
He gets it.
We get f'd because we don't matter. Canada has a fraction of the consumer base plus we get screwed on import fees and also on taxes. There are too many hands that have to be greased along the way to get anything to us. I guess that it's the Canadian manufacturers that are screwing us the biggest since they price their firearms competitively with imported rifles, oh wait, everyone in Canada wants to be paid at least $20/hr just to get out of bed and show up at work on time which drives up costs.
It is what it is and it's not going to change, quit complaining about the high prices and either find a way to get it cheaper, get a better job, don't buy it, or move to the US, oh wait, then you would make half as much money as you do here if you could find a job and then you also have to live in the US, no thanks.
Is this any different that buying a car or a toaster? It's all more expensive here than it is in the US. I would have though that people would be used to this by now, it's not something new.
