I found a guy with one of these that has been sporterized. Bubba has wood stocked it. He is a gun smith and intends to restore it by making a replacement wire stock. His problem is he can not find a photograph. Does some one have a decent picture for this project?

Take out the space,
Now I have to caution you about the "restoration". I have a "civilianized" version, it had to go to Ottawa to be examined and was registered as "homemade" as apparently in its original form the rilfe hits the "PROHIBITED" box.

The "prohibited" status is odd.....how did that come about?
The rifles are normally restricted due to their short overall length with the butt pushed all the way in. I have seen a few of these where the owners welded a block into the butt to maintain +26", but I don't think that works in the eyes of the CFC. I only have an older copy of the FRT, and it only lists the M4 survival rifle as "restricted".
I had an all matching one several years ago, and have seen many since, but usually non-matching, some un-dewatted, and most un-registered.

I've got a very nice original H&R M4 survival rifle with Canadian military markings on it, and it is registered as restricted (I don't have the heart to weld the stock). If you are interested in picutures of it and dimensions, let me know.

I am not so sure welding the stock will de-restrict it. As of late, the CFC seems to interpret the collapsing stock thing as how it "was origionally designed to". This was why guys with the krinker plinkers, who had the folding stocks welded up at time of assembly, still ended up having restricted certificates sent to them due to overall length.
