USC mods! Dont need no HERA arms kit!

F22, did you have to hack up the stock to steal parts from it, or is this a complete standalone piece?

I hacked up the original stock. Used high strength steel epoxy to permanently adjoin them. Its fairly simple to get the stock off, I used a hand mitre saw (you could use a hack saw but its not as rigid so its easier to get off coarse) to get through it, and then sanding blocks and files to flatten it out.

The USC pistol grip/stock block is far to complex for ME to replicate though.

Does the stock fold (doesn't look like it from the pics)?

No.

I was very tempted to get the ACE folding stock adapter for it (FAB Sports sells them), however I decided that it was adding too many little parts, and I wanted the ruggedness of a direct attachment, rather than a folder I'd never really use. (im very rough with my stuff :p)

It would have probably made the mod easier to do, since I wouldn't have needed to use the buffer tube drill and tap.

Forgive my ignorance, but is that considered restricted?

Oh, also;

- where do you live?
- do you believe in defending property with force?
- planning to be away from your home for a consderable amount of time any time soon?

Frickin' gorgeous, bud. Absolutely stunning. If it's non-restricted, I'd pay bucks for one...

wow you were about to get flamed! and then i giggled, which i suppose was the point!:p

Very nice!

USC is a restricted firearms.

:D

Restricted = Useless :mad:

If you can't take it to the bush...........what's the point?

Another "black" gun taking up space in the gun safe.

When will the RCMP invent a new found technicality crisis & start sending out revocation letters for this kind of gun & goodness knows how many more?

its a really fun range gun. I have actually NEVER taken a gun onto private land for hunting/shooting in my almost 4 years of firearms ownership.

If we could get the factory Benelli M4 14 inch barrels, I would re-classify my M4 as restricted and get one in no time flat. Although I like the idea of a gun being non-restricted, most of my shooting is done at gun ranges, so a gun being restricted is not really a big deal for me anyways :)

Thanks guys :D

Im still patiently awaiting my dlask rails :p

I have some Brownells Grip tape (basically sand paper with stick backing) on the pistol grip now for some grip texture. I'll post some more pics when I get the dlask rails on, and it set up nice.

F22 Raptor Gosh that firearm looks exactly like it should congrats!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks, but it would look better with the short barrel! :p :D

ETA

Maybe i'll see what I can do about a fake suppressor shroud to make it look better...

May I ask how much you have invested?

lets see if I can piece it together...

Rifle 1700-ish including tax (got it in GREAT condition used with 2 mags. It came dura-coated black)
2 spare mags 130
Aimpoint Micro 680-ish
Magpul CTR + stock parts 150-ish
Grip panels 40 bucks
Tango down grip 65 bucks

Plus about 10 hours of work with hacksaw, sanding blocks and files.

so what I have payed, maybe about 2700 dollars so far (for everything including optic). Add 80 bucks for the Dlask rails if they ever come.

Aluminum block + machining = FREE (A GOOD guess would be about 200-300 bucks worth of time to have it machined by a shop, with the buffer tube threads, plus the 2 threaded anchor blocks in the stock)

If you were to go the "easy" route and go for the HERA stock system, it would be about 600 bucks alone...

More updates!!!

Hey guys, I finally got some more stuff for my USC.

Got my Dlask Arms Aluminum rails, some lower profile rail covers (didn't like the Magpul ones), as well, I added some Brownells Grip Tape to the pistol grip for a nice grip texture, AND a single point sling attachment to the stock block. As well, I added my 6PLED Defender flashlight to it.

Its a Midwest Industries picatinny sling loop.

Im not using the Dlask top rail though. Its a damn nice rail, but it raised the optic up too much so I didn't have a lower-3rd co-witness, as well, it extended out too much forwards, so it would bite your palm if you tried to do the HK slap and weren't careful enough :( (learned this from experiance :p)
