USC non restricted, without a foot of barrel sticking out!

Not fond of the front sight or the stock... something more HKish for both would look better, I think.

That being said, it's awesome - I like everything else about it! Nice job!

I finally got this guy back from the gunshop last week, a month long wait for the CFC verifiers, which from what I understand isn't actually too bad :p

The barrel just has a coat of paint on it right now (had to get it turned down for the clamp-on A2 front sight) so I'm likely going to send it off to Barret at Arma-coat to get it nitroned, but other than that - pretty much done! :D

(And maybe a barrel shroud, but we'll see)

As for the handguard, no details yet other than it's a 3D printed prototype, it's tough as nails as far as crush and impact tests I've done - but I need to see how it responds to getting warm/hot!

Another picture from the other side:

With a 5/25 UMP45 magazine. (showing the serial number cutout in the handguard)

That is very nice! Congrats!

Now we need a video of you firing it downrange...

Thanks again guys! For the front sight, I am thinking about getting a folding front sight for it, a PRI might actually look pretty good on it (and looks a little more HK-ish) Or my first choice being a Vltor.

As well for the ACR stock, again - something I've thought about but after playing with the HERA Arms conversion... it's much too high for the current line of sight, and I don't want to put the height up anymore than it already is. I actually really like the CTR on it, it's very solid and lightweight. A UBR might be cool too, I still have the non-folding stock block around here somewhere I could put a UBR onto.

I am planning on going out pretty soon here to get some videos of it firing, now that it's non restricted I can take it out to my buddy's farm! :D

Managed to get this thing out to Phoenix Indoor range tonight after work to test fire it finally!

First off, what a pleasant and quiet gun! Couldn't believe how quiet it was, actually took the earmuffs off one side to fire one round just to see, and it wasn't bad at all, about equal to my older 18" 10/22 barrel with the comp on it.

Barrel definitely seems like it's capable of more accuracy than the old 8" one, but I was only standing and shooting at the 20 yard target, I need to put it on a bag and shoot out at 50 to see what it's capable of.

Cycled smooth as glass though, no missfeeds (using FMJ round nose, so no surprise) or stoppages at all.

The only thing I noticed is the gun cycles pretty quick as the round goes out the tube so it seems follow up with your trigger pull is a bit more important, however still easily able to do double taps and have em within 2" at 20 yards!

I'm surprised you didn't go with the guys on HKPro with their extended railed polymer fore end group buy.

While I do find that design interesting, I really don't like quad-rails anymore. I've actually had a quad-rail design (somewhat similar to that, except the rails were plastic too) floating around on shapeways for a few years now. I just never really liked it enough to get it made.
