I found a used trijicon acog on a local buy and sell for $200. I am heading out to look at it tomorrow, any thing i need to know when buying it?
This will be my first optic purchase with no currently owned firearms (PAL less than a month old), so i dont know what i need to be on the look out for

I have to agree with btabin. At that price that is way too good to be true for it to be a genuine ACOG. You can get a comparison by looking at prices for new Trijicons. I would inspect it closely but it is probably a counterfeit or a clone/copy made by another company, the quality of which vary greatly.

I would exercise caution.

Yup... As stated, you rarely see a genuine ACOG for less than $1k, and that one is generally old and the tritium is tired. Probably an airsoft knockoff. The glass on a genuine ACOG is AMAZING... Very clear, no tint, no fisheye. Knockoffs can't replicate that.

Buy once, cry once...

Look up knock off acog references on Google, take it from there. You can get them off Amazon for peanuts, they work for some people but they're no trijicon.

I wouldn't touch it for 200$, wouldn't even get my hopes up

Heck I wouldn't buy a new one for 1500$ the warranty on these are useless in Canada, I seen a thread about the hell a fellow CGNer went thru with a BNIB lemon Acog

Basically this, for the price of an acog you can get an elcan, no brainier to me.
