Hi guys, new to the site. Would appreciate some experienced opinions. Just got my PAL/RPAL this week, as well as my first hunting license. I have an opportunity to buy a slightly used 2012 Browning Xbolt 7mm Rem mag, 26 inch barrel. It has a nice 3-9x40 Bausch and Lomb scope on Leopold bases and rings, a Harris 9"to13" bipod, a 9 round ammo holder strapped to the butt and 2 mags. The gun is less than 2 years old and has approximately 150 rounds thru it. I figure to buy the equivalent setup brand new would be around $1200 plus tax. He's asking $990. I plan to offer him $900, would this be a good deal for a used rifle???

How much is it all worth new? Is it stainless barrel? I have a browning 7mm stainless with a 3x9x40 . I like the gun but would like to have a scope with more power.

Its a blued barrel and synthetic stock.
Mags are around $ 50 a piece . Don't think id want a bipod or butstock mag holder for hunting though. It is 2 yrs old though, you could get a new one for $800 , so is the scope , bipod, extra mag, cartridge holder worth the hundred bucks? I think $800 for the package sounds fair if the scope has any value ...,$700 if scope is junk.

depending on how picky you are on the stock, cabelas.ca is offering the synthetic grey hunter model for $699 currently

While at $900 its not exactly a deal, you still in the end save some money over buying new. Taxes in on all the additional items, plus shipping (if needed) adds up.
The B&L scope is probably a nice scope, and depending on what model - comparable to some of Bushnells current line of things. But deals on the EE for scopes can also be found.
The Harris bipods are excellent and have a decent price-tag on them alone (again, pending on what model), but a 9-13" would fetch $65 on the low end on the EE, I would expect if it's just a baseline model.
Extra mag is $50 value, and really up to you on if you need one.

In my eyes, $900 is more than a fair offer for him. Obviously lower, along the lines of $800-$850 being a deal. Anything less is awesome.
