Used cz 452 .22lr with Bausch and Lomb elite 3000 4-12x40 ap scope, worth $650?

If it wasn't a 452 Lux but the regular 452 version I'd say go for it. The Lux version stock is designed to work best with open sights. Therefore when you look through the same gun with a scope on it, your cheek has nothing to rest against. For shooting off hand (standing with out a test) this fact is a big disadvantage to shooting accurately.

For myself, I prefer shooting 22s with a scope so this is not a configuration I would want for hunting.

Chevy,

I am with Larry here. The CZ 452 Lux is a great rifle (which I own) that works best with the great factory tangent sights (due to the hogback type stock which can interfere with a proper cheek weld, as Larry said). Optical scope is not the optimal setup for a Lux. The CZ American or Varmint models are meant to be scoped. The opinion of others may vary from mine.

I share Larry's opinion. The lux stock is not great with a scope. The stock doesn't weld properly with the cheek for sighting. Creates inconsistent patterns in my experience. Better to get the straight stock, or a boyds replacement stock...

I'm going to take a look at the gun smith next time I am in town and see if the iron sights are still on the gun. If they are then I will decide if I want to get the gun and take off the scope and keep it for a future gun or get new.

I'm leaning towards new because everyone likes new stuff :p, and they are discontinued so you will only be able to buy new for so long...

What is different about the full stock 452's, compared to the 452 lux that I am going to buy? Are they better for certain things, or just different? I remember finding one and I was just re reading the thread and someone posted that they are long gone.

If I found a fs 452 there would be no thinking just buying. The difference is the stock.

The 452 FS has a 21" barrel and a full length walnut stock.
The 452 Lux has a 25" barrel with European Style walnut stock
The 452 Trainer is the same as the Lux but a beech stock.
All three have the tangent sights and "hogs back " style stock suited for the open sights.

Rumour is a fresh batch of new 452 Lux's might be coming in the next few months?

I own both guns you were looking at. The CZ455 & the Browning T-Bolt (the one with the forward & back bolt design). Both are excellent choices. I cannot tell you that one is better, it's about how it feels to you.
