Used gun prices

what dealers sell cheaper than th EE,i havent seen them but they may be out there .I would like to know where.

as was listed before the SKS is a great example

Cabe reg price is just over $200. on sale is under $200.
there are lots on the EE right now in the $300's

now you need to factor in condition etc but i've regularly seen rough looking ones asking more than retail (even including tax)

Yup, Army and Navy store in Edmonton around 1968. 1907 bayonets were $1.49 back then and you could bring them home on the buss without anyone batting
an eye.

I for one can't get over the prices going for the dead guns walking cz858's that still pop up now and again. People still want $1200 for these very soon to be paperweights....theyre not worth more than $500 now like all the other 12x class guns destined for the smelter.

Prices of used guns go up for various reasons from scarcity to a renewed interest in a particular gun but the one that really bothers me are the gun flippers. Now I don t mean the guy that ocassionally finds a gun and flips it but the guys that have no real interest in guns other than to make a buck this type of person is the bane of any collectible .When people started collecting sports cards normally it was for the fun and usually a father -son thing with a keen interest in the sport ,then the guy who just wants to make a buck steps in and the prices go up so high that the ones who really enjoy the collecting can t afford anything except for the knock off reproductions and soon the interest starts to wane as it goes from a fun hobby to just a money game.

Exactly...

The CV19 situation means there won't be that much free money around for a while, but its bound to recover over time. I can't say I saw much change from the 2008 recession, but this is different.

Dealers have an edge because folks can buy on credit card while private vendors need to sell for cash. I saw a dealer selling average looking Garands for around $2100 at a brisk pace while they were left sitting on gun show tables for $1500.

Trust me, these will never be paperweights or going to the smelter

Short term price increases. If this shutdown goes on as long as I think it will the prices will drop as people start needing cash and less people are willing to pay the high rates they were going at. High end items I could see the prices remaining similar to what they are now, but the more common stuff expect to see the premium disappear.

Prices have gone up drastically over the years. I bought my SVT in 2012 for $300, good luck now adays. I’ve recently been kicking myself for not buying more surplus rifles years ago because almost everything’s at least doubled in price ‘minus the sks but it’s getting there’. The only positive I could maybe see from corona is some interesting rifles may come on the market at a reasonable price.

Because I wholly missed the boat on buying $400 M-1 Garands, I picked up a few of the $200 SVT-40's; you live and you learn... :yingyang:

I think everyone on CGN predicted that thd Swedish Mausers were overdue for a price jump, esp. after seeing what happened to the price of K-31's...

Is there a reason the K11 and Swiss 1896/11 rifles are selling at under $600 at retail? Seems like that's an awfully good price for Swiss quality.

They aren't as desired as K31s by shooters basically. The K11 has a pretty short sight radius due to the length of the Schmidt Rubin action (as opposed to the short K31 action) coupled with the short rifle configuration, and a 300m minimum rear sight. The G96/11 is a long rifle (most people prefer short rifles) with a 300m minimum sight setting. They are great guns though.
