Hi,

I'm new around here and checking for either used or new walther P99 9 mm to buy. been shooting with my glock 17 for a while but using walther P99 on the job and not allowed to shoot at public rangfes with them.

Anyone can point me where to look at for some used ones and the approx prices.

Thanks

If your looking new, any of the site sponser dealers such as Wolverine carry the p99 for around $1050 plus taxes. Used ones pop up in the exchange typically anywhere $750-850.

Nice choice, had the opportunity to try one for the first time last week, very sweet and shot beautifully, ever round hitting the mark, the rear site is very wide but gives a good site picture.

I for one will be buying one in the near future.

Was a little worried about the grip. it looked small but once I'd tried it I found it to be very comfortable, a winner for Walther.

I have not tried a 9mm yet but I found the 40 likely due to the low weight real punishing on the hands even after a single mag with factory loads.

thanks for your answer....asked a few question about prices at my range here in montreal and price is around 1250$....will look the provider in here for sure then

I've got a 2002 P99 (the so-called "first generation" model), very ergonomic, very unique SA/DA trigger. I was surprised how good a pistol it actually is, one of the best and I've owned quite a few classic and polymer semi-autos. I'm definitely holding onto it, I've got a 112 mm threaded barrel on the way (for my fictional silencer), how cool is that?

oups....been away for a bit....actually looking for a 9mm walther P99 QA....same as we use at the department here in montreal! will be good to practice with the same gun I got on the job

I own a 3rd Gen QA in .40. Trigger on this thing outta the box is downright criminal. My trigger finger would literally cramp up after 3 magfuls. Anyone spending $1,200 for this gun would or should be pissed. I bought it for around $750 and after cleaning up the trigger group as per awesome instructions on another site, I love her now. Trigger pull used to be 5...6..7...8...9..13lbs
Now it's a constant 5-6 lbs with about 1/4" travel (normal for a QA which is sorta like a DAO).
I just traded my 1st Gen AS in .40. That trigger was awesome right outta the box!

peter, just for my knowledge, where did you got those cleaning instruction and such? would be helpfull for me when I find a P99 and also to make sure the one I got on the job is having a stable 5-6 lbs trigger

I dunno that you'd wanna mod your service weapon, though I don't blame you. Thing is, you may look bad in court after a shooting. Just a thought, I'm no lawyer. But I know from experience how them bloodsuckers can take your most innocent of actions and turn them into a story that can get you hung afterwards...

This link oughta take you there. http://www.waltherforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=5574

Awesome. I did it and I'm not a gunsmith. Just follow the instructions and keep a cool head.

Afterwards, I cut 2 coils off the striker spring. I read of some people cutting off 5 coils and having an occasional failure to fire. So I went with 2 coils which lowered the trigger pull weight a bit more. I've easily run over 300 rounds thru her since. Not one jam, not one burp. Primers are definitely cratered enuf. Groups at 15 yards are down from "barely on the paper" to 2". As someone who was able to group 2-3" at 25 yards with my 1911 yrs ago, a 2" group at 15 isn't all that much to brag about. But it sure is better than before;)

well....for one thing I won'T be making that much mod on my service weapon...but I'll bring that to the department gunsmith and ask a few question if they can do it on my weapon! so I'll be clean in court if somethign bad happen! hehe and will do it on my own as soon as I find one!!!! thanks a lot for the info
