Hi guys I came across a used desert eagle 9mm in a local gun store. I have always wanted one. I am not really a fan of buying used but it appears to be in good shape. I saw on Frontier there 699.00 new what would be a good price on one in good shape. What they are asking is 650 or 675 cant remember. There is no way I would buy that so close to a new one.

The Desert Eagle in 9mm for $699? Are you sure? Please, check it again.

I bought my BABY eagle 9mm for around 600 used, can't remember exactly since I purchased it a couple years ago...it came with IWI rubber grips too

:) Guess I got a good deal

Its the same one that is on Frontier for 699.00 and the shop is wanting 650 or 675 used, cant remember. I didt know there was a baby eagle 9mm and a desert eagle 9mm. I thought the desert eagle was the 50 and everything else was the baby eagle if that makes any sense lol.

I believe the Desert Eagle comes in .357, .44 and .50 AE where the Baby eagle comes in the non magnum handgun rounds 9mm, .40 S&W and .45 ACP.

I'd say if you're going to buy it, go with the new one...if the shop wants $50 less for a used one, I don't think it's worth it.

For the price difference, I would buy it new; I like new stuff.

BUT, I believe there is a bigger markup on used pistol than on new ones, I would try to negociate the used one. Make an offer, worst case scenario is a "No".

Yeah I would buy the new one unless I can get some savings...more than 50 bucks lol.....what would you suggest as an offer. I dont want to insult.

hum.. of course I haven't seen the thing. I would offer probably 75-100$ under the asked price and be prompt about it (between 10 and 20% less). Example: "Make it 575 and I walk out the door with it right away".

Haggling is an art, like if the pistol has been there for 4 months, you have more chances with a lower offer than if he got it yesterday :). It's all about how you feel it and at what price difference you're ready to consider buying used. Like for 25-50$, no way, but if you get 100-150$ off a good condition used one, that's substential savings. It all depends on the conditions and only you can see it :D

Good luck

Well after making the trip to the gun store with the wife, I had to walk away from it. The price tag actually was 695 + tax on it. I told him that I could get one new for 699 and he looked on the web and confirmed it. The boss was called and he came back with 625 + tax. I said no and walked out. Also it did not come with the manual. Major turn off. It was hard as I really want one of those....but I am happy I made the right decesion.

Who knows, if you go back in a little bit and it's still there, they may offer it for less.

Or if you want to wait, you'll probably be able to find one within more of your price range...with the manual :)

Good luck
