Used pricing @ ellwood epps

I shop at Ellwood Epps as much as I can but have never purchased a firearm from them.
What is their policy on used firearms?
Is HST exra on used items?
Will they negotiate on used items?

I tried calling this morning but they are closed until tomorrow for the holidays

They're a retailer and have no choice but to charge you the HST. As far as haggling or getting freebies is concerned, it seems to be harder if not impossible with new purchases lately, used ones, you may stand a chance.

I called....and they are closed. LOL

and I was going to drive there today.

Their website says closed 24 - 26th but open again on the 27th.

Phew. Saved myself. $40 in gas

I find it easier to negotiate on used items but it will really depend on what they paid for it, availability of the item, do they have more than one, etc.
If it's a rare or hard to find item you might be SOL on getting a better price.

Also you can do some research to see if there price is inline with the used market.

Epps has an avid used handgun following. The way that you know it is over or under priced is if it's still for sale 5 minutes after they post it. The bargains seldom last a whole hour.

I have gotten a lower price on a consignment gun that was still there weeks after it was first posted. It takes a bit of time, and a motivated seller...

What's HST, by the way?
