I am looking at buying one of these guns. A used SVI which is good shape in 40 ca. It is stainless and seems to be in good shape. It comes with 5 mags.

Roughly for the same price I can get a New Limited Tanfolglio.

What would be the better deal?

I am shooting IPSC in limited class.

Looking for suggestions and anybody who has one or the other.

I debated that for a while!

Well I actually had other Standard pistols in mind with the STI,SVI, HK Expert (not much to adjust to HK, as I use one in production), and recently the Tanfoglio.
Not to get to much into detail, but you want to get something you will be happy with. Get something that is reliable. Get something that is good to go out of the box. I got a DVD from the 2005 Limited Super squad, and it seemed to me that a lot of the shooters were using STI, and SVI in some form or another. Of course Todd Jarrett was using a Para, but from what I have read it was not really close to being a factory gun. TGO was using Springfield, but just about everyone else was using some type of STI/SVI.
Will buying one of these pistols turn you into an IPSC super star!?, NO, only practice (lots and lots and lots), and experience will make you a better shooter. That being said, you should get a Standard gun that you will be happy with, I am going with an STI Edge.

I saw Henning's name on the Results, and from what I know, he uses a Tanfoglio, which also appears to be a nice pistol.

what price are you getting the SV for? You can get a Limited Custom for under 2k from Sean or Alex, a really good deal.

BTW, i know a guy called Eric that shoots a Tangfolio. I hear he is pretty good.
