Sitting here with my stash of kleenex boxes and dayquil/codiene , i find myself watching TOP GUNS , which if anyone hasnt seen it , is pretty neat from a slight historical perspective but anyway onto what i want to know .

They show a clip when talking about the m14 and in a black and white video a guy uses a 20 round charger that fits in the stripper clip feeding area to deposit all 20 rounds into the magazine at once ..

Has anybody seen one of these up close by anychance .. i know thermold makes one but it fits onto the magazine and not into the rifle . Maybe an early prototype when the rifle was first released ?

You can get a usgi mag charger and 5 round stripper clips, usually contained in bandoleer kits.
Seen as we can only have 5 round mags, it's a perfect and cheap solution for ya.
Insert stripper clip in the norc charger bridge and push the rounds into the mag.
See a few guys practicing service and cqb reloads in this way.
You can also get 10 round stripper clips for those of you running AIA mags ;)

Yeah i know we can get those ones , but this thing that was used was not a stripper clip not a regular charger , it was almost shaped like a giant U with a flat bottom .

Just want to know what it was , or if they were around in some collectors stash . :)
