USGI M14 stock identification

Hey guys,

So I recently bought a USGI wood stock, and was just curious if anyone knows a little more about it than I do. It is in pretty good shape, a few minor dings here and there, but I got it for a fair price, so I'm not complaining whatsoever. From what I have been able to find out about it, it is Winchester manufactured, marked on the buttstock as W-W over top of 11010263. It also appears to have some proof marks in the trigger housing area, although they are a little difficult to make out, a capital "V" and what looks like a capital "S". I have heard that these were manufactured as replacement "Big Red" stocks, although mine doesn't seem overly red (could be that i have no real reference and/or the years of dirt and grime on it). Just wondering if anyone knows maybe when it was made, or if it is in fact a replacement stock? I would be quite pleased if it could be confirmed as a "Big Red" stock. Also, it has painted white number under the buttstock...does anybody know what these mean? a quick google search didn't turn up much on the painted numbers.

If anyone can help out, that would be great.

The numbers underneath are hard to see in the picture, but they are definitely there.

Again, the markings are sort of hard to see but it is clearly a V over an (upside down?) S.

Yup, I've seen a bunch of them and that looks like a big red. Has correct Winchester markings and looks extra thick in the grip area. Not exactly sure when they were made... Probably before the 80's though. That one is a replacement or else it would probably have a DAS and P.

You have a Winchester big red birch replacement stock. It was likely manufactured in late 1964 or early 1965 at the New Haven, Connecticut factory.

Okay, I have a GI stock I was told was a big red but mine has bedding cuts where the receiver meets the stock. Birch unissued. What would it be? Thicker then standard GI stock.

Are there any markings on the end under the butt plate? Is there a stock liner?
