it's real simple folks.....
get a 3/16 x 2" inch long taper head stove bolt and nut, canadian tire, 50 of em cost 6 bucks. Get a tube of jb weld and a bit of grease/vaseline and some tinfoil, 1"x1" square. lightly coat the bolt and wipe away excess grease. keep grease away from the nut.
apply a fingernail size dollop of mixed jb weld into the little slot the original nut is supposed to go in. now, insert your stove bolt nut into the jb weld filled pocket and apply another fingernail sized dollop of JB weld burying the nut. Place 1"x1" piece of tinfoil on top of the nut area, covering the jb weld and forcing it to stay in the pocket. Slip a 1.4 inch washer over the stove bolt and insert it into the jb weld filled nut, tighten untill the washer comes flush and tight to the stock and is straight with the hole and pocket. Let cure like this and once fully cured, remove the screw and you now have a permanent fix. the washer can be discarded
*** for those wanting to install a norc buttplate to a usgi fiberglass stock..... one modification that MUST also be done has not been mentioned so far.
The area where the trap door latch sits against the buttstock must be milled out a minimum of 1/8" to allow for proper fit and function. It's a bit hard to explain... I'll post pics maybe later.
if we could make a new usgi stock modification thread as a sticky..... I am willing to do a start to finish with descriptions and photos, how to mod your g.i. fiberglass stock for full norc compatability. Paint job included
