USGI or Norinco 20rd for M305?

The Norc 20 rounders look and feel as good as the USGI one. On the americain boards they just love them.

right now, you have to jump through a lot of hoops to get usgi unless they're already in-country- the norcs have no functional differences and are already here

Norc it is then.

I'm thinking of getting an FN FAL chest pouch that holds four 20rders to haul stuff mags around with when hiking. I saw some surplus Canadian issue FN chest pouches on one of the websites, can't recall off hand where.

THanks

For some bizarre reason, M14 magazines don't fit well in FAL mag pouches. I think the OAL of the magazine is longer. I had C2 mag pouches on my 82 pattern webbing and tried to stuff M14 mags in. No joy.

Norinco magazines function fine though. I've never used USGI, but I've never had a fail to feed from my Nork mags either. ;)

Ok, I'll have to nix the FAL mag pouches and get some surplus M14 stuff for the spare mags.
Thanks for filling me on on that.

That was a great price midway had on the Taiwanese made mags but they are sold out !
Beware of fake USGI mags floating around out there ! Even I was fooled by one and have since isolated it from the rest of my mags .
The Chinese made mags are excellent !
USGI mags are excellent !
Taiwanese mags are hit and miss but for the price ,I think they are work the gamble .I currently have 3 that work fine and just ordered 12 more on a group buy for $10 U.S. ea .
If you stick with USGI or Chinese you will be fine !

certain models of the late model(84 model) fn pouch (nylon) will work and others don't- the american m16 30 rounders work provided you cut the tabs and put them in sideways, not fore and aft- the canadian m16 30 round pouches can be hit or miss- i've got 2 that worked, 1 that won't- too tight- the fn nylon ones that work are a lot shorter in the body- if you buy usgi m16 mag pouches they all work

nothing bizarre about it- it's because the mag is wider at the back and the little welded plate on the back for the latch - just for fun, after reading your post, i grabbed the only c2 pouch i have and guess what- it fits, takes 1 in both compartments- it's an 86 issue- depends on the pouch

Just wondering , does anyone make / have a 10 round(pinned to 5) magazine for the M14 ?
The 5 rounders are to flush and a pain to get out and the 20's are a complete waste of space IMO .
Thanks

actually the 20s give a nice place to hold on to and are easier to strip- i've got some of those pita 5 rounders- the real things , made by springfield) - they cost 50 bucks a piece back in 92 when we couldn't get 20's -i'd sooner take a 20 - besides, it's what the gun was made with- you can probably get 10 rounders from sproingfield-they make 5, 10s and 20s- a lot of folks used to hunt with m1a and that's why there's a 10 to conform with state hunting regs- same with a 5- but to get 1 here would be quite a trick and knowing springfield ,costly-
