USGI stock

Hey guys.

Looking into buying USGI m14 stock. Came across wood one but it has a cracked in the fore end by the sling studs but the cool thing is it has dummy selector in it.
Guy is asking 250 for it. Includes all the metal and norinco handguard cap.
The rifle that sits in it doesn't sit all the way in. I can see daylight under it...

That's pretty hight for a beat USGI stock that some idiot mounted a bipod under in the wrong way and cracked the stock.....
YOu can find them cheaper.
The reason you can see daylight under the receiver is because there is a slight angle on the right hand side of Norinco receivers under the track which the op rod handle sits in.
You need to file/sand down the USGI stock under this area to match the angle and then it will sit flush.

I wouldn't pay more than $125 to be honest and that's if the stock was like new and came with the fake switch. You can get Boyds walnut brand new for way less even with the dollar exchange being so low.
Talk the guy down to $100 or save your money Sir.
My M305 is currently in a well beat USGI stock with the same split/crack underneath from one of prvious owners mounting a bipod in the drainage hole. It's a rookie move and almost always results in a cracked stock. I don't have the dummy selector though, just pointless metal and weight getting in the way for nothing.

btw, the PROPER way to mount a bipod is to drill out one of the rivets in the sling stud where the wood/metal is THICKER , put in your sling stud- t nut on the other end, cut it off flush with the inside channel, undo it, then epoxy it back in place
