I can't get hold of the dies I want right now so, I was looking at the specs and wondering: While not ideal I'm sure, has anyone tried it. Any reason it won't work?

Cheers,

pilot dc,
For the sake of science I just sized a .223 case in my 22/250 die. Only the last .100" of the neck is sized, but if you are happy with that it will get you shooting. There's no law that says you have to size the entire neck, some do this deliberately to aid in centering the cartridge in the chamber. I have used .308 collet dies to neck size 30-30, just to get away from lubing the cases.

Thanks guys. I've managed to find some dies and they're on their way. I was just picturing having to stare at my new rifle and not shoot it for the next good-knows-how-long.
