Using a Falcon scope for hunting?

I've been kicking around buying one of the Falcon Menace scopes like the Falcon Menace 5.5-25x50 to get into some longer range shooting on a budget but I use the same rifle for hunting. Is there any reason a "tactical" type scope wouldn't work for my hunting rig?

Of course it will work.

Just be sure you are in actual long range hunting situations, as you'll have trouble finding your animal at close range with this scope.

I guess "work" isn't the best choice of word, more what would be the downside of using this type of scope? I could always go with a 4-14 or 4-18 as well, that's not too far off the 3-9 I have now.

I'm going to take a 6-24 out hunting.

Just keep it on low and you'll be fine.

If you're shooting so close that it's a problem, you're probably better off with irons.

I'm using a 4-14 Falcon Merlin on my hunting rig this year and did for last season too, it was on a different rifle last year. works good for hunting but I rarely had it off 4 power most of the time.
