Using a sling on your Black Rifle

This is the best way yet I've found to run a two point adjustable sling.

Because the rifle lays on it's left side vertically on your chest, and the buttstock end of the sling goes over your right shoulder, when you bring the rifle up it forces the sling to clear the buttpad.

Farmboy,

Which sling mount is that attached to the stock? Exactly what I'm looking for, don't want to use a hook. There's an attachment point for it on the CTR?
Thanks.

I love my vickers padded sling. Tried a MS3 for a while but I never used the single point option and the padding on the vickers makes it way more comfortable. I have mine attached to a magpul ASAP on the back of the receiver and a push button swivel a couple inches in front of the receiver. I find it gives me a little more manuverability than having it attached to my CTR but it still drops muzzle down for transitions. Also doesn't swing all over the place like it does with a single point.

I'm liking the Magpul MS2/3 slings myself. Although I don't think I've ever used it single point except to do some mall-ninja posing in the basement mirror while my wife is sleeping. She gets REALLY pissed when she finds me stretching out her black pajamas ;)

Two point works best for me. It hangs the gun muzzle down at an angle away from my feet and goes over my shoulder muzzle up just right.

The Magpul sling has that nice adjust loop that slides easily and holds tight. I wasn't so sure about the quick release on the rear when I first got it but I haven't had a whoops yet. It is really nice however to take the gun off fast.

I'm going to try the Farmboy way for sure... on the right rear for a righty. I have my rear attachment on the sling plate left side and have found the sling between my cheek and the stock a number of times. Slow standing range shots that's ok but in something like 3-gun I don't want to have to push it out of the way with my chin. I like a clean solid weld everytime.

What does everyone think of this sling? Tactical intervention specialists makes a two point adjustable that also has a built in "cuff" that is used like the GI slings that were used with M14s.

Great sling for precision/sniper rifles.

We have them in stock.

Are you able to get the slip cuff quick detach model in stock? Also, these seem to have the same quick adjust features that the VCAS has, can you compare the two?

Right now we are just carrying the M24. We probably won't be ordering any of the slip cuff models as we sold about 2 a year of those ones.

They are not quick adjust like the VCAS. They adjust like any other 2 point sling, taking it off and using two hands.

I suggest the TI slings for long bolt action style rifles and the VCAS for AR style rifles.

I've been thinking about trying the vickers padded two point on my BD44.

Is there any potential negitives to using the factory sling point located on the right side of the gas block, connected to the left side, mid point of the butt stock?

My AR is ok with the single point but certainly too long for it, my CSA carbine is perfect for a single point.

I've never used a sling before but I ordered a Magpul MS4 sling for my XCR and am wondering the best way to use it for short hikes into my shooting spot over fairly rough ground? IE. 3-5km over clear-cut terrain where both hands might be needed?
