Hello all:

I recently purchase a couple for long lees and a long lee carbine. Now I know that some of the parts, like the wood and nose caps are special and going to be hard to find, but I was woundering if other parts like say trigger, mag cut off, brass butt plate, volley sites etc from a No 1 MKIII would fit.

Cheers

Trigger and sear are different on some of the really old ones: sort of knuckle-joint on the early single-pull trigger. The later 'drag' trigger with the double pull (take-up and letoff) is actually much better.

There are actually a surprising number of parts which CAN be interchanged. I find that if a part looks like it should fit, chances are that it does.

Short Rifle buttplate, though, did not have the long tang. You can interchange the entire butt assembly, though.

There was actually a LIST of what parts fit what. It is in the TEXT BOOK OF SMALL ARMS - 1909.
