My buddy and I got a Dillon 650 , My question is I have about 2k of primed 40 S&W already that I want to use. Can I run it through the Dillon without the sizer die installed? Is there a chance the primmers will detonate in the forward stoke ? or is the same as for example if you have to go back and seat a primmer deeper in a RCBS universal primer tool.

If its primed already why would you need the forward stroke? Primer is already seated. I have ran pre-primed brass in my 550 with no issues.

On the 650 you need the forward stroke to seat the case from stationone locater into the shell plate . The forward stroke has those two functions , place shell In station one and seat the primer on station 2.

You'll be fine, just remove the decapping rod assembly and don't crush the handle forward.

I've used a lot of primed cases with my 650 and never felt the need to remove the seater assembly. I wouldn't overthink this one.

I use primed brass (9mm, 45 ACP, .223 and .308) and so long as decapping pin removed, no worries. Mine even drop from the casefeeder no problem, and if anything the upstroke of the press arm will ensure that any primers that are sitting proud (slightly high) are nicely seated.

I prefer to resize and prime my brass, and use my 650 as basically a powder thrower, seater and crimper...works great!
