Using pull down powder for. 223

I hear ya I think I have 4 sets of dies for 303 British I reload and shoot alot of that love taking the enfield out but I justify having 4 sets so I can leave the seater Alone as I have several pet loads.. Lol

If I have more than one rifle for any cartridge and I'm going to shoot them, I will have a dedicated set of dies for each particular rifle. Saves a lot of buggering around when loading up the cartridges. I also keep separate MTM boxes for each rifle with its specific loads.

So after alot of experimentation I have concluded the powder in Bulgarian silver tip is very similar to h4895, apparently from. 223 I have used it in. 308, 303 brit, and 45/70, and h4895 data works and the powder has same density having said that it's only true of the span can I pulled apart, but if anyone ever wants to try the same thing start with h4895 data and reduce an extra 10% just to be safe

i have been wondering about pulling, 7.62x39 and using the bullets and powder for 300 Blackout... do you have experience on this or a good place to start?

If I built a 300 Blackout I would be loading better quality components, looking for the accuracy that caliber and rifle is capable of. If you want 7.62x39 surplus ammo results, just shoot it as is.

Never had experience loading 300 blackout.. And guessing that the pulled powder from 7.62x39 might be a little faster than the stuff I pulled maybe something like a h4198 maybe.. Total guess.. You would have to pull some weigh the charges and do some research to try and figure out what the powder is similar to, but be safe if you go down this road

I don't know about his powder and rifle, but I can tell you that I have 5 Ars and they have huge variations in how much powder it takes to cycle them

If you have a suitable powder, start with 5 of each and load 20 gr to 26 gr and test them for cycling and accuracy.

With the powder I use, one runs on 21 and another needs 24.

If you use x39 powder in a Blackout, start with 4 grains less and go from there. I think 3 gr less would be about right.

22 grains cycled fine in mine 21 had issues been going with 23 grains in mine, it's just a cheap dpms oracle and may be over gassed when my tax return comes going to get a higher end Ar and will see how the rounds do, but will be starting at 23gr, I notice with the pulled powder I have it reduces well.. Made some 303 rounds with 28gr and a 125 gr played bullets and no ignition issues
