Ya I've found that the searching on this site sucks and can be a pain just trying to find something simple.

Is there a special technique for using the search engine. I have tried to use the search engine on several occasions. I have found that I am not getting results for simple questions. I was looking for an article I read some time ago about a gentleman who re-barreled his AR180-B in an alternate caliber I believe it was 6.8. I am not computer savy.A simple try this would be great . Thank you from Earl

Hey from one newb to another - you can adjust the search option if you scroll down.
The date range default is set to a newer than a week.
Just change it to older than a week.

Thought I'd help out before you get piled on with "beating a dead horse" and "you should use the search function" posts.

go to advanced search, make sure that you set the date back to the last 36 months or as far back as you want it. then you have another option that allows you to just get thread tittles or words in threads.

after all this i still find the ####ing thing useless and a waste of time.

Even myself being computer savvy I find the search engine on this site is a piece. None of the search parameters even make grammatical sense. Like it used to be(might not anymore) that the Find threads with at least __ replies is the opposite of you actually want. So if you want to find something with replies you have to say at most 0. If you only want threads with no replies you put at least 0. Its horrible.
