I'm very new to reloading and I'm going to be reloading 9mm and 40S&W. I'm finding it hard to find a load recipe for 40S&W using Titegroup powder in the popular bullet grains, ie. 180grs. I rather not have to buy another type of powder only because I don't reload all that much and also my local gun store has limited amount of bullet types and powders. I chose Titegroup powder because it seems to be one of the most used powders on this site for handgun.

My current IPSC load is:

Para Ord 16-40

.40 S&W
180 gr Lead RN
4.7 gr Titegroup
29mm OAL ( 1.14" )

~980 fps+

Makes major and works great for me!

Try going to the Brian Enos webpage, and doing a search for Titegroup. I did exactly this when I was researching a load for my 9mm. There were a few guys asking this same question, and a few people had posted their recipies.

4.5gr. TG
1.125" COL
Win case
WSP
180gr. Frontier FP
960fps (Glock 22)

Of all my loading recipes, this above combo consistantly runs over the chrony with a SD of less than 8, amazingly accurate load. TG burns a bit sooty after extended sessions, especially at the muzzle, but it is easily wiped clean if its bothersome or a problem to you. I usually go through 200-400rounds per range session and it never seems to be an issue for me. I love this load in my Glock 22, very pleasant to shoot!
