I was talking to an old fella and he was saying that he's been using vaseline to lube his cases.

anybody else has that experience? ideas?

Hmmmm Vaseline for lube, title sounds dirty. Haha
I think it would work, but it is petroleum based and may collect on case neck taper and cause denting when resizing. Also the inside of cases would be hard to clean it out of and an oily residue may effect powder of primer consistency or efficacy. I would just buy a tube of the lee white resizing goop. Can be used wet or when it dries and doesn’t effect powder

Ky is better...oops wrong forum.

Seriously tho, Imperial sizing wax - just need a tiny bit. Or lanolin/alcohol - your cases will smell like sheep.

I recall overhearing some folk claiming Vaseline would actually hurt you if used in place of KY, but that this other stuff called Astro Glide was the recommended product.

This is me NOT googling to find out if Astro Glide works in an AR bolt, or if anyone has used Lee Alox intimately. There is the theory that every passing thought is already the subject of a page out there.

You need more Ewoks in Canada.........

Bag Balm is slippery but sort of stringy at the same time. And it has a very mild anesthetic. I don't think that it would work in any application or situation envisaged as this thread on case lube goes completely sideways.

tried lanolin/alcohol mix before, if the consistency is wrong, lanolin will buildup in the resizing die. I had to clean the resizing die every 10 cases to keep the headspace consistent. I assume it's the same with Vaseline.
I'm using WD40 Dry Lube spray. I believe it has liquid Teflon in it. Works pretty good. It's just not as versatile as Vaseline.

I am thinking that as cheap and common as vaseline is, if it were any good as a case lube, someone would have suggested it long ago. I like the sizing wax.

I use equal parts: Light synthetic Motor Oil, Mineral Spirits, ATF, and Kerosene. In a spray bottle.

Just for case lube though, 'cause the ol' lady says it stings.
