USMC sniper rifle

Not too famaliar with millitary arms, but was that an M40 they were using and training with in the movie jarhead? I dont think it was an M24...

The M24 is a US army Sniper weapon system, The M40A1 is a USMC SWS.
Both are based on the Remington 700 series, In Jarhead I think it would have been the M40. instead of the A1.... But I am not sure of that.

Well Desert Storm was in the early '90s, and they switched to the M40A1 in the '70s, so presumably they used the A1, unless it was a typical Hollywood lack of attention to detail.

You are probably right. As I said, I have no idea when they changed to the
A1. Is it when they went from wood to synthetic? Free floating and all that?

Yep, they changed from wood to the McMillan A1 stocks as well as replacing Redfield scopes with Unertls.

Savage: Nice pictures! How long was that course?

Rohann 3 days it was great ,Day 1 at the wild west shooting center and day 2 at the Ben Avery shooting complex day 3 tour of McMillan facilitys and the final matches back at the Shooting center .The most hilarous incident happened on day 1 when relay 2 moved to the first stage match [shooting from inside a house standing non supported doing a high angle shot on a mover] it was arround noon when a highly agitated Diamond back appeared slithering out of the discarded drywall debris the cops had there pistols with then but decided to dispatch the snake with sticks and rocks so much for using the pistol  . The really amazing thing was Ryans partner was sitting on that same discarded dry wall pile only 2 hrs earlier.

That's really cool! How much did it cost (did you have to pay for it?)? It sounds like a lot of fun.
Haha that's kind of ironic, scary for Ryan's partner though; that could've been bad.

cost was $100.00 and yes I had to pay for it ,It was a very enlightening and humbling competition . Ryan kept complainig he had to sleep with his ear plugs on according to him my snoring kept him awake:rolleyes: what a crock if my snoring was that bad it would have woken me up:p

Only $100?! Too bad it's in Arizona :(.
Haha I think I know how he feels; the first few nights at BMQ were absolutely horrible. I seriously thought some people were snoring AT each other.
