In Ontario it is.
That's unfortunate.
In Ontario it is.
It MAY be more difficult, but USPSA is WAY more fun and far more relevant to practical shooting. IPSC might just as well be shooting at pie plates!
Thanks Opcx6, I'm very fortunate to have been shooting so long!
I do like the USPSA rule book better but really don't see any difference in the stages. I think stages will vary more in different locations and between different match directors rather than which shooting organization it is.
Why don't you guys shoot Steel Challenge in Ontario, it's easy to set up, easy to run and fun to shoot.
I don't understand, it sounds like you want to start the club, so you're going to be the match director for your matches.
Why not just be an IPSC match director and
a) pull the targets in closer, so your distant pie plates look bigger and are easier to shoot at
b) create stages that are based on scenarios that you think are fun and interesting

The stages are not different... But uspsa is way better... No stupid 3-2-1 rule
I would rather shoot B zones at fifty yards! I once set up a stage for the Sharon Open with three El Presidente's, 10 yards, 20 yards and forty yards. I prefer fun targets to the ######l ones we have now.
Yes!As I said, I like the uspsa rule book better. Well..... except for the 3-2-1 rule, I actually like it. I know you guys probably think I'm trolling you now because everyone hates it, except me.
I miss the speed shoots that we used to have. They may have been 4 rounds, or 6 or 8 but it was draw and shoot. Now, if we have a 6 round stage, you will probably have to get your gun and mags out of a briefcase or shoot weak hand or some damn thing. Sometimes 15 or 20 hit factors are fun!

You can always make an ipsc target smaller by adding hard cover or no shoots. I really miss the 50 yard targets! (I don't mean I really miss them, I usually hit them)
Well....yeah actually lolBullseye would be way more fun if they were shooting at USPSA targets?
Well....yeah actually lol
Then throw an IPSC mini target out at 75 yards. The 3:2:1 rule only applies to level 3 matches and above, too.
None of the reasons you have given for wanting to shoot USPSA in Canada are things that can't be done within the structures of IPSC.
A target is a target is a target. If you are so concerned about how the stage looks, then dress things up. Make it pretty, but the nature of the game isn't going to change.
I suppose you're going to say that steel challenge is no fun because the targets are rectangles and circles?
Bianchi is no fun because the targets are tombstones?
Bullseye would be way more fun if they were shooting at USPSA targets?
You just turned 850, don't you remember? We threw a party and the candles blinded overhead aircraft
