With all the ruckus going on regarding the proposed IPSC 2012 rule changes, there has been a lot of talk about USPSA. I am a new BB holder, and since the USPSA.org website has been down for the last two days, I haven't been able to find much official information about USPSA. So I'm wondering what is involved to become a member, how often there are shoots in NY (I'm in the GTA), and whether there is a serious chance of a USPSA affiliated club in Ontario?

What say you all?

foreign membership is $60 a year if i recall correctly, and you get a real good magazine out of the deal. Tonawanda shoots once a month, there have been affiliated clubs in ontario.

Burlington Club is still affiliated. There is usually a small match or two once a year and on the occasion they run USPSA classifier stages on one of the Tuesday nights.

I second about Tonawanda. It is great experience to go there and meet new friends across the border. BTW, one of the guys from Top Shot season 2 is shooting there on Summer.

Just go to US and shoot USPSA. Great people there (even IDPA ones), great stages, cheap gas, great food...
US people DO have more common sense compared to Canadians as well...

It is $200 for club affiliation, and you need 10 members to get affiliation!

That is 10 Current USPSA members.
You can run a USPSA Classifier per month (twice per year you can run a Special 4 Classifier match) .
You can also run as many USPSA matches as you want.

All of this with no mission fees. Your $200 Annual Club Membership covers it.

I don't have a vote, but I say DO IT NOW.

Show IPSC the door and go USPSA!

:)

I know you're trolling PokPok, but I did not indicate I was showing IPSC the door, just demonstrating interest in USPSA.

Thanks everyone for the info.. once the USPSA website comes back on-line, I'll join up - at the very least for the magazine ;) I'll keep my ear's peeled for news of any car pools to Tonawanda this summer too!

Wow! I bet we are going to see this at the local matches soon enough.

Would the powers that be in IPSC allow such a target? Or would it be declared a "carnival prop". It does present the target (at times) at an angle greater than 90 degrees to the vertical.

That said..........if USPSA allows it I suspect you might find it at a club near you in the future.
