USPSA - Vote Manny!

I think that Jack and Mike are more concerned with the current internal issues of USPSA - lack of transparency/communication, suspect accounting practices, ranges not being paid, website/database being hacked, Area Directors quitting...
Exactly my point. As foreign USPSA members, most of this is irrelevant.
I think you're in the USA a lot - so it's good for you, but for us in Canada and the rest of the world; their involvement with IPSC is what actually affects us.

You missed my point with the 3 gun example - it's not just bringing 3gun to IPSC; think Metric target, long course round count, sight pictures, ROs wearing guns, classic division rules, freestyle restraints, balance, Target Array Handbook, etc. An interested-in-IPSC US RD would have been beneficial to the debate when those things were happening.

I don't think it's irrelevant. As a member of USPSA you should still want what is best for USPSA. I guess I'm looking at it from the point of view that the vote for the USPSA President should be about how it affects USPSA the most. If USPSA is not strong & healthy it's relationship with IPSC can only get worse.

You are correct - I shoot a lot in the US, so when I saw the the initial post I had to put my $.02 in. I think name recognition is what has put USPSA into a downward spiral. I believe that a business approach is what will get it out of that spiral, and that either of the two names I promoted in a previous thread would be best for the job. I am not personally involved, nor have I met any of the candidates. I have read everything I could find and have listened to their interviews. As in any election, people need to research before making decisions.

But the US is just one vote. You know the current voting system is set up so that the wishes of a few particular individuals is always very likely to be passed. (No need to comment on that Sean, given your position).

Whilst I'm not saying that there would be zero benefit to having a USPSA Pres that cared about IPSC, I am not optimistic at all about any potential impact.

USPSA is far from perfect, but there is much less BS from the top to deal with. No idiotic rules people/person.

Just wanted to chime in and give another plug for Manny for USPSA president now that the second rounds of ballots are set to come out. Previous comment that business experience is more important that shooting ability are correct but knowing his history everyone should know that he operated a successful business supply company well before he ever started shooting .
The other comments about needing someone in the position that can commit full time has been answered with Mannys recent decision to leave Universal and commit to working full time as President if elected.
