UTAS UTS-15 and SAM Longslide

So tempting Grumpy. :HR:
Your stance and support for this gun alone has been leading me closer and closer to a purchase.

I agree completely. Every other source doesn't have great things to say about these (I know i know...generations or vintage of guns in YouTube videos were different than what wolverine sells).

I still can't get over not having a forend that would be solid/aluminum with picatinny for a vertical grip. It's the only thing holding me back. Just my opinion.

The majority of shotguns sold today don't have solid or aluminum pump handles. I'm personally not a fan of vertical grips on a pump gun and you might find that over time the vertical grip on a pump shotgun doesn't always hold up. I've seen it with remingtons and mossbergs.

A lot of the people who are nay saying the shotgun really have not had a lot of hands on or have refused to adjust how they operate a shotgun, but the new spring assist will certainly help with that. I've talked to a couple of movie companies who have used the UTAS and their armorer is a big fan himself and those guns get a lot of abuse.

Grumpy, what do you prefer about the UTAS15 vs the KSG12? I've never fired either but in handling them the KSG felt much more solid and compact. Though I've heard KSG can be very hit and miss with quality. The UTAS felt bulky and flimsy in my hands.

Ive fired the ksg and did not like it, felt cheap and just dident feel "right". A buddy of mine just got one of these 3rd gen shotguns and seems to really like it. Im going to pick one up and give it a try. If it sucks i will sell it and take it as a life lesson learned. If i like it i may just buy more than one( I seem to do this a lot with guns i like).

Good points grumpy.

I like the versatility of being able to use a vertical grip if/when desired.

I find if the buttstock has a pistol grip then the forend pistol feels right.

Anyways. You guys keep bumping the UTS up my to buy list for sure! [

Yeah... he's probably not happy. Any lower than the belt buckle and no more procreation for em target. Joking aside, I'll be ordering one of your long slides, trying to make up my mind about all-blue or the half stainless.

honestly I do prefer the UTS-15. I don't have any where near the trigger time one a KSG12 that I do with a UTS-15 and I'm not going to bash the KSG, but I personally prefer the feel and balance of the UTS. I like the way it tucks into my shoulder pocket and the way that it stays on target when I fire it one handed from the hip, it doesn't jump and remains controllable. I find I can quickly drive the UTS onto the next target and have found that it is very accurate with slugs. I've consistently hit falling boar targets at 125 meters with the breaching choke installed. Again this is just how it feels to me. I've also found it to be one of the easiest shooting shotguns going on the shoulder. The design and polymer frame soak up the recoil very nicely. As we all know the fit and feel of a firearm is a very personal thing and will differ between people. I like the opening top cover on the UTS-15 so that if you do have a feed issue, it is incredibly fast to get it cleared and back in the fight or competition or fun shooting or whatever the situation may be.

We have asked for a picture of the half stainless prototype so we can pass that on to you folks. I think the stainless and blued will make a sharp looking pistol, but I got to admit the all flat black of this one is calling to me.

Any idea when the black UTS will be back in stock, had already disappeared off the site when I checked Tues morning for corrected pricing.. :(
