Utas uts-15

Plastic feed ramp? Rusting springs?

I saw the nutnfancy video and good lord. A plastic, rusting, malfunctioning, uncomfortable, and ugly beast of a shotgun.

Do not buy guns based on Hickok45 videos. His videos are not reviews, they are hype sessions. Which are fine. I LOVE hickok45 vids.

I agree, got a full refund from the dealer, will not be back to the UTAS camp!

I was shocked when I saw that review.

It seems as if UTAS only wanted to put this gun out as a "movie gun". I can't even see this being used that way, it probably can't even cycle blanks. You would think UTAS would have worked out a Mark 2 version which addresses all of these problems.

Even for those who don't have problems with the feeding and cycling, I'd like to see the condition of the gun after a year of regular use.

I've gotta jump in with recent issues I've been having with mine. Mine was from wolverine and it is a true turkish model. The very first day I got it I slammed close to 100 target rounds through it no problem, target rounds being the only ammo I had at the time (Kent). I took the gun back out with slugs a week later and after the second shot I had the exact same problem as the OP, the rounds would not eject, it was as if something was holding the slide from moving more than an inch. When I split the gun in half the shell came out no problem, i didn't need to pry it out it slid out no problem. I tried dry firing the gun and it cycled perfectly but after trying 3 more times with slugs and having the same issue I switched back to the original target rounds assuming the slugs were the issue (federal slugs). Unfortunately whatever caused the slugs to catch were now causing the target rounds to do the same. I called wolverine and they said this was a new problem that hasn't been reported before so I cleaned it out really good to give it one final try before shipping it back.

Today I took it back out, first 2 slugs exact same problem. I noticed some scratching on the plastic where the round sits before its cycled, I will try and take a pic but its hard for a camera to pick it up, but it looks like as the bolt moves back and forth the rail it sits on is rubbing on the plastic causing it to get rough. This is the only problem I could find and I don't really think its the problem but its all I got. Funny thing is after I gave it a few good pulls I got the round to eject on its own anddddddddddd now it works perfect. 40 more slugs without a problem I honestly don't know what to say but I'll be talking to wolverine after the long weekend to see just how long I have to make my decision about shipping it back. I don't want to be stuck with a $1700 brick but I also love the look and feel of this gun and would hate to lose it, will give it a few more tries this long weekend. I see that KSG's are starting to pop out more now so if its shipped back I may be switching camps.

Also I have to add that when firing rapidly there's a chance that it will drop 2 in at the same time, usually the second one is jammed vertical, only takes a second to fix but it is annoying when it happens.

Edit: added some photos I hope you guys can make out what I'm trying to show

For a guy that tries to portray firearms in the best possible light, this video was a total dealbreaker for me.

A complete lack of care and attention to detail seems to have been put into the construction of this firearm. You will not see me owning a UTAS firearm anytime soon.

Although I'm having issues with mine I'll still come to its defense on this. FPS used one of the first gen U.S models that caused all the negative reviews, that U.S model really tarnished the gun and although they still have issues they aren't anything near as bad as the ones he was using. They used cheap polymer and polymer where metal was needed, its funny usually we make fun of China for making all the cheap U.S knock offs and now we have a U.S company screwing up a foreign companies product. As long as its from the factory in turkey its a much better make, again I see the irony in this but I haven't made a conclusion on mine just yet.

I accept screw ups and mistakes. They happen.

What I do not accept is blatant profiteering by advertising a product as the be all and end all of high capacity shotguns, and making it with subpar materials.

Basic R&D or product testing would have determined this, yet the product still went out to thousands and failed to be reliable.

I can not respect the morals of a company who does this.

Just my .02.

I agree 100% I don't understand why they rushed it. Even considering the U.S manufacturer might have done something wrong the Turkish models were also having issues. Not gonna lie, although I find the UTAS to be a better looking gun I'm starting to wish I held out for a KSG. Another issue I'm regretting is the $200 camo I added, its so delicate I'm nervous about setting the gun down on anything other than a padded case, I'm not sure if its a issue with the paint binding to the polymer or if this is just a standard complaint with camo jobs but it is annoying.

99% of the uts problems with being picky with ammo stem from the barrels being misaligned at the factory with the breech.
If you have a look in the chamber, or run your finger in there, you may feel a "lip" that the brass will hang up on with low brass shells.
My first uts broke its barrel mounting lugs and had this issue.
My second one has run like a top for several thousand rounds. Luck of the draw.
They replaced the first one immediately though, no questions asked.

I guess i should chime in with whatever experience i have with this gun... Which is zero.

Got the gun. Loaded it with a snap cap 12g shell. Selector breaks. Didnt get to fire gun.
Observed gun a bit more. Felt cheap and had scratches on the metal parts. Suppose
To be a new gun but had very evident scratches on metal parts on frame.

So yeah... Imagine that you got a new gun to protect yourself, family, le, military etc...
And this gun does this #### to you... Piece of utter garbage. I hope utas gets bit in the ass for this cruddy
Product. If it were a life and death situation, could have gotten someone killed. Granted should be tested first,
But never had a pump or semi not fire nor break even from extreme mishandling.

On top of that, sent it back to the shop after having the gun for 1 dayand breaking on that same day. Sent for warranty. Havent
Seen it in 1 months... so yeah, gives you an idea that utas will be slow with their warranty as well.
