Question, I always use dummy rounds when I store my firearms so I can release the trigger. With the utas, when you close the action and pull the trigger, the bolt dust cover remains open. Should I just leave the trigger under pressure. Seems silly to me to have a dust cover and leave it open when storing. Does it matter at all with this firearm to leave the trigger under pressure for long periods of time?

You can leave the trigger under pressure it won't hurt anything. That way you will be able to have the dust cover clipped shut.
Storing it with the hammer cocked won't hurt anything and you don't need dummy rounds as dry firing won't hurt it either.
Good luck, I went with the Kel-Tec KSG after reading too many bad reviews about the UTS reliability. I hear the newer ones are better but it wasn't worth the risk to me.
Have you shot this gun yet?? I think storing with an open cover will be the least of your worries..first see if it works..
But to answer your question, you CAN store it with the dust cover open, unless you store it in the send box
I think 95% of the videos on utube are operator error. Sure if you didn't follow procedure on the earlier model you could break a pin and the selector switch. I just blast off 100 shells with zero issues. Trick is not to baby the action and make sure the action is fully closed before pulling the trigger. Do this and zero issues. When the zombie apocalypse comes(and it is coming)Utas Uts-15 owners will be the last men standing!
Shotgun will not be the first firearm I pick up when the zombies come. Ammo is too bulky and heavy to carry enough on you and you don't need that kind of firepower.
I'll be grabbing my 12.5 inch AR and with twenty 30 round mags in my vest I should be good for a while. Plus the ammo cans with 1000 rounds each are coming with me.

I really had hopes for this gun, was one of the first to get one, then after it broke exchanged for another one with the same result..
After a while I gave up, returned the UTS, bought the KSG and never looked back.

What broke? I've fired atleast 200 shells with zero issues, even let two people that have ever fired a shotgun give it a go and they both fired off 15 with no problems. Most fun I ever had with a shotgun.
