I have a Leupold Scout scope that I was thinking about putting on my M14. Would a UTG Tri Rail work well? Are they actually junk that isn't worth it?

Please tell me how you know whether or not they're junk. I don't want any "My brother's cousin's sister's boyfriend's uncle's buddy said they suck."

I just put on on mine, very solid. I am thinking of adding a little rail that goes where the stripper clip holder goes to mount a scope right across. For now I will just try out a red dot on it. It is great quality though I was/am very impressed by it not to mention it looks awesome!

They work very well and as lon as you don't gi Irom man on it and strip the screws ;)
I have recommended these to an awful lot of m14 owners and none of them are cursing me ... Yet :D
Definately a decent piece of kit.

I don't have any UTG rails on my M14 but I have put some on some AR's. Cool factor aside, I found them to be a much tighter fit than factory handguards, more solid, and well made. The top rails lined up with the upper perfectly. I am definitely considering putting one on my M14.

Mine works great with a Leupold Scout 2.5x on it.

The only guys I've heard complain about them aren't exactly the kind of guys you'd want using a wrench beside you... and be aware that there may be a different fit between the two underbarrel bands - if you put the 'thick' band on the thin part of the barrel, of course it's gonna be loose!

Make sure there's a good friction fit with the bands, without the screws in 'em, and you'll be laughing.

Mine mounted very solid. Use blue locktite on the threads! The screw hole that goes against the reciever had to be made bigger to level the rail. For the $ it rocks! Use your cleaning rod down the curved length of the top rail to get it lined up above the center of the chamber with the bolt open when tightening the screws evenly to insure a good plane.

Got one on Sheilla, now going on 18 mounts, very satisfied with it....
