What do you recommend as an utrasonic case cleaner? They Hornady Lock-N-Load seems to work quite well from the videos I can see on youtube. The basic lyman seems to top out 8minute cycles which never seems to be enough. From what I can tell 30 minute cycle in the Hornady seems to do the trick!?

I have a weird question but what do you do with the liquid once it's used? Is there a plug that you pull out to let the unit drain or do you poor it into the sink/toilet? Is it safe to do that or is this stuff really toxic?

I got mine on ebay. Its not black and doesn't say hornady on it but it is also bigger. Has a heater and 8 minute cycle. Normally 3 8 minute cycles gets the job done. The only thing I can think of that is better would be stainless steal pins. I use the hornady case cleaning solution and when a batch is done I just dump it down the drain in the kitchen.

i bought the basic lyman to do small batches of 500 mag brass and if i went back, i wouldn't have bought it or any other ultrasonic cleaner. they do "clean" the brass, but don't really polish it like i thought they would. also my lyman unit broke so i need to see about contacting them, but i suspect they could care less based on other Canadian users reports.

US cleaning is a waste of time.

I have US, corncob and SS.

I use SS to clean dirty brass or large batches.

I use corncob for all the rest. Quick, easy, works.

I use US only for gun parts, and dies, etc. Not worth my time for cases.
