UTS - 15 ...Did you preorder one..?

From the reviewer, "I would put the price around the 1k mark, give or take a couple hundred".

I wonder if prices will drop to reasonable levels when US production begins. Maybe one should hold off until then.

Two thing stood out in my mind that are strikes against the Keltec so far after watching Nutnfancy's video.

Reloading- appears awkward and clumsy, not intuitive <drop down into loading chamber, then push into tube> this could be resolved with training and practice

Safety- apparently can be bumped into the "off" position while slung and running.

This isn't to say NutnFancy is the be all end all. But I like his approach and his enthusiasm is infectious. So far, he's the only one I've seen run the Keltec hard/competition style scenario.

I really REALLY like the look of the UTS, but I need to see more of it's loading mechanisms and procedures and any quirks that might be specific to the UTS.

More info and reviews needed!! :)

I like the look of the KSG better as well but, it has a lot of features I dont like that the UTS does. Like the mag tubes dont switch by themselves on the KSG you have to do it manually. They should have gave you a manual or automatic option. The KSG can't fire 3" rounds. That was a really bad decision on Keltecs part in my opinion. And, the loading on the KSG looks like a pain as others have said. We will see after there both out on the market for a while. I would never preorder either until they are proven. After they have been on the market for a while, and the gremlins in both show themselves, I will make the call and then possibly order the best of the two. I wont pay two plus grand for an unproven firearm. They both may be s**t for all we know. And the prices will definitely come down as they become more mainstream. I will just keep shooting my tricked out 870 Marine Magnum for now. It has more then proven itself. I cant say I would trust my life to either of these two until they are proven. Even then, more complicated/technologically advanced designs are always more prone to failure. I might buy one as a toy but, I dont think they could ever touch on the reliability, dependability, and low maintainance of the good old 870.

Ok...misinformation here...the KSG has been updated to handle 3" shells (as well as 2 3/4"). Originally it was only the one size...now both. Just sayin'...

I don't think either company got it right. I like the Kel-Tek set up since you can choose two types of ammo, but I wish they had the 'option' to automatically switch magazine tubes when empty for times when you are only using one type of ammo.
I also think it will be a lot less of a pain to tip the KSG to the side while loading shells than to need to open a top cover every time before loading - at least you can load on the go with the KSG.

Ya I don't know where everyone keeps getting their information from... try and keep up people ;)

If it were not for the KSG I would be all over the UTS-15... I have been preaching the need for bullpup shotguns for years, but bullpups really need to be ambidextrous so the lefties don't get jealous. I let a left handed friend fire my Tavor - "I think you will be alright", I said. He ate the case and I almost ate his fist. Bullpups are impossible to fire from the opposite side they are set up for - keep that in mind lefties!

I'm thinking the UTS-15 looks like the better option; much easier to reload, staggered feed capable, more technically interesting and its not made by Kel Tec and not wholly subject to U.S. export restrictions.

I ordered one...still waiting for it to arrive...hopefully in the next week...they are a month late. I have the M4, Mossy 590 and an 870....I just like the look of this one.

I am wondering about what type of sling to rig this with however....any suggestions?

 ok so these beasts have arrived to Canada, and clearing the customs as we speak... WOO-HOO .. I couldnot be happier, might be able to try it out very soon..... :xes:xes

UTS-15 starts at $1649.

M4 Capacity is 5+1+1.

OR considering you have the SAIGA listed as 10, it should be 7+1+1.

OK...

As the time to s**t or get of the pot rapidly approaches, for layin' out some serious shotgun coin...

"Rumour" has it the KSG is inbound, and the side by side reviews should be imminent...at least w/i months, by Canadian firearms standard's..

Has TI delivered, on the "hole" mounted light/laser combo (I'm assumin', as I can't find a pic of the setup...), c/w the modded fore stock, for pressure plate (railed lower would be great...)?
Some of the "poly" pieces sound like they aren't up to 1k rounds of running..any truth to that?

I run my pump guns hard, and am looking for some additional feedback here, particularly on guns w/ a 500+ round count, movin' and groovin', over 2 days...

Any feedback, guys..(there is a reason I use that 'smiley' in my sig line...)..?

Bump for the last question asked. I have two Grizzlies in the safe that get some occasional use for plinking and clays but they're nothing special. For the amount of 12 gauge I shoot I might as well have just one shotgun, but I want it to be a hell of a shotgun. Thinking of losing the Grizzlies and picking up the UTS-15.

Opinions on this course of action would be most welcome. The UTS has the looks but has it got the reliability?

Come on, seriously. No one? There was a huge thread about them earlier but no one's shot theirs beyond that?

I love my UTS-15, will post some thoughts and pics later. Have put every type of round through it flawlessly. My only beef is the plastic shell followers (easy fix coming from Ti) and trying to load the tubes on the run will take some healthy practice. Other then that its an amazing field gun given its weight and size. Fits nicely in the boxes on the Quad.

Also, very good service from the guys at Tactical Imports..they might be new to the business but they take customer service seriously...a refreshing change.

damn it,damn it damn it now I want this one too,I knew I should have never wandered over to this section, now I want one too, does anyone know if these are on a long back order or in stock?

What's the weight on the UTS-15? Is it 2.8kg as listed above on the chart of 3.2kg (same as the KSG) as indicated on the website. The 0.88lb weight savings is a big plus in my mind. Also, is the overall length 720mm as listed in the chart of 706mm as indicated on the website? Thanks.

Addendum: TI emailed me to indicate weight is 2.8kg (6.17lbs) for the base model; UTAS website confirms overall length is 70.6cm (27.8").
