I'm awaiting my 14.5" M4, if it's purely a range toy i'd go restricted. If you want one for anything else get the 18.5" Black is better for resale but desert camo is the new black.

m4 isnt very popular in 3 gun at all, the m2 is the benelli that dominates there

benelli m2 or one of the FN shotguns is my vote, got to convince someone to bring in the FNs though

this correct but its still a benelli, It was a blanket statement for the company ;)

"quality carrys on from the M1 all the way to the M4 :)"

The M4 is semi-automatic, so it's not exactly a fair comparison.
[...]I like the ergonomics with the KSG and the fact that it's a bit slimmer than the UTS-15. On the other hand, it is almost a pound heavier, too.
[...]And there is the reliability issue with Kel-Tec.
1) depends on what you want. All else being equal, semi's are faster and more reliable (because you can't short-stroke them). On the other hand, pumps will feed anything and have higher capacity, and the bullpup designs are so much more compact they should handle a lot better. The M4 is a remarkable shotgun, just not one you would call "nimble".

2) The KSG is not "almost a pound heavier" (assuming that is what you meant). UTS-15: 7.2 lbs, KSG 6.9 lbs.

3) as for reliability, neither the KSG nor the UTS are proven firearms, but the KSG - all 250 that have been shipped - has no reported problems on KTOG or anywhere else.

I really love the M4 (insert gripe about 5-round capacity here). I agree that in terms of reliability both the KSG and UTS are still relatively new (more so with the KSG, but point taken).

In terms of specs, the UTS-15 is 27.8 vs. 26.1 with the KSG (just over 1.5"), but the base UTS-15 is 6.17lbs vs. 6.9lbs for the KSG (again, these are pre-production specs on the KSG; I'm not sure if they've changed). Not that weight is the sole deciding factor (and I do like the slimmer profile and ergonomics of the KSG), but I think the UTS-15 has the edge for me at this point. Unless I go with an M4. ;)

You can extend mag cap in M4 as to change the tube. I've seen UTS-15 at work :) nice toy, first batch had a lot of issues, hopefully my bud will get new gen UTS with less problems. Loading UTS is fairly easy, from both sides, KSG I believe goes diffrenly and also changing feeding tubes for loading in chamber is a bit complicated, what I saw from video

If you want one and have the cash ... JUST DO IT!

My first semi shotgun and my LAST.

I love this thing so much it makes my wife jealous!

I say the KSG. I handled (fondled) one extensively at Shot last year (and have many pics and video of it). It feels very well made. The M4 is nice, but not $2k nice. The UTS is on par with the KSG, but at a much higher price, and personally I think it is ugly as sin. Too bulky looking.

Did you have a chance to try loading it? Apparently that's one finicky aspect of it. Yeah, the M4 is nice - but not $2K+ nice. Bulky, perhaps - but I like that it's 3/4lbs lighter... Nothing looks as ugly as the Neostead. ;)

I've shot the Neostead. VERY cheap feeling. Brittle plastic. I wouldn't pay $400 for it (let alone the insane prices that were being demanded). By comparison, the KSG feels a million times better.

I didn't try loading it. Shot Show wouldn't allow anything like that. Unless you lack patience, I would wait for the KSG. If it does have any loading issues, the other guns are still available.

Currently my go-to shotty is the M590 Mariner. I had Casey install a sight rail and ghost sight combo. Utterly reliable, durable, and accurate with slugs. Patterns well with all buckshot that I have put through her out to 25 yards (between 10 and 20" depending on ammo brand). Having 9 rounds available is a big plus. It's only real issue is the long 20" barrel. I had no issues using it at a tactical shotty course mind you.
