Has anyone ever heard of this Shotgun before, the UTS 15, made by Scandiun out of the UK and Turkey. Looks like Kel-Tec may have some competition, or some one ripped off the design from the other.

From one of the web links above I learned that they were in talks with Mossberg to produce it, there is no date as to when it happened so maybe it will go into production.

I don't know, I kinda prefer the look of this one I think... I agree, it's not a "pretty" shotgun, but I like the utilitarian look of it, the white on black writing and the "F-off" styling. I haven't seen either of these in action, and I haven't read the owners manuals for either, but the loading looks somewhat complicated on this. Still, with a 14+1 capacity, if you need to reload it under pressure, you're screwed either way.

It'd be interesting to see both come out, and have an "impartial" (assuming that exists) judge compare the two. Still, although the Kel-Tec was the first of these I saw, my money's on this one.

Looks like this one would be pretty easy to load, move the little leaver that indicates the number of rounds left foreward and lock it in place, throw in shells with no spring pressure pushing back, now I'm just guessing here but thats what it looks like.

Also you can put a cool MagPull grip on it.

Built in laser and flashlight isn't bad either.

Didn't check the specs, so I didn't know that the laser and flashlight were built-in... that's pretty cool though. Same with the loading... seems relatively easy. The shell count indicator is great too. I was trying to figure out some way to do that with my shotgun without destroying it...

Takes 3" unlike the Kelt-Tec. The KSG is a lot nicer looking though. If the price was reasonable I wouldn't hesistate to pick one of these up.

I like the magazine features and the fact that its not American {because of export related BS} but I just can't think of very many Turkish built shotguns that aren't junk.

There's definately a lineage there. I'd say the KelTec came in second but bettered on the design. The Turk has some nice features the Keltec passed on, likely to keep the price point down... Kel Tec a bit more lefty friendly though.

That thing is HUGE.

Like OICW huge. the Kel Tec is so much more streamlined... That thing looks like it has an SMG hidden in it somewhere :D

ETA

I DO like that the shell feed area can be opened up like that to clear stoppages and such.

Go to sleep Andy, is 4:30 in the morning for pete sake:p I thought I was the only one up West of the Great Lakes...

The Turk has some nice features... mag windows, changable grip, integral light/laser. The KelTec looks lighter as well... leaner and more liberal use of polymers and such.

It looks freakishly huge. The mag tubes are on top, then barrel then pump action instead of having the pump wrap around the mags like the Keltec. Plus, it looks like it ejects out the side, instead of down. Maybe not so good for lefties? I wonder how top heavy it feels with 15 rounds?
Kind of like a car accident. At first glance it looks bad, but I can't look away either.

(E)

Even if you move the rear sight forward it looks like you would grate your face on the rail. It also looks like the casings would be ejecting an inch or two below your eye, which would be most distracting.

Funny how Kel-Tec is now adding some of the features of the UTS to the KSG, I would love to see the UTS in Canada, anyone have any updates?

UPDATE: Looks like the UTS will be made in the US, that means it all depends on the DOD (and RCMP) if we will ever see this.
