Farmer dumped a full truckload of wheat that got hot in the grainery in the field behind my acreage.

I looks like West Edmonton Mall for wildlife in my backyard.

I jacked him and told him the only time he can ever pull this stunt again is during hunting season.

I was walking up my range road to get the mail and a neighbor stopped and asked if I needed a ride. I smiled and said thanks but I'm doing OK. (I figured because it was -22 out and windy)

She said "do you know you have a big moose following you??" I turned around and sure as sh!t there was a big 2 year old bull coming for a walk with me. He came out of a wind break behind me as I passed.

:( (This smilie says it all)

Ya, we NEED pics!

Cheers

I'd post some pics but I got between a cow and a calf this afternoon and am still cleaning out my shorts.

I came around a bend on a trail I made this fall and saw the calf (about 20m from me) and went "oh sh!t, where's mom"!!

Big grunt behind me let me knew real quick.

I'll take a camera out next time.

(and maybe a zoom lens)

Guess I can still walk quiet when needed.

As I write, there are two deer eating the seeds the birds throw down from the bird feeder three feet from our front window.
Pretty to watch.

Can not wait till this year's season....only about 10 months to go!

That's odd. There are mounds of wheat in the fields around here. The farmers don't have enough bin storage. Don't see much wildlife or sign around them. I've heard canary seed and peas caught hell this fall though.

Take a flashlight when you leave the house.
I used to live in a tiny valley in the mountains of Idaho. By Feb. we had elk, deer and moose in the yard, which was cool until a cow moose tried to stamp me one night in the driveway! My getaway sprint in the pitch black took me face first into the snowbank and full speed.
