Ive got a small lot of 6.5mm 160gr. RN's and the only label on the container is Valcartier/Valcartier sports on it. Ive compared them to the 160gr. Hornady RN's and they are very close but not identical. Any ideas ? maybe just an older Hornady production lot that had a small variance ?

If this can help you, this 160 grain bullet was first offered by Dominion as their 6.5X54 M-S load, which was quite popular at one time (Sears and other large store were selling those), then, after, it was used for the 6.5X55.

Interesting...id be interested in suggestions on loads with this bullet (6.5x55)...I was kind of leaning towards a good charge of RL-22 (45-46gr.)....ive loaded up to 48.5 for 140's with no issues in my Tikka.

I use 42gr of either IMR 4350 or N 204 and a 160gr RN .I have never recovered these bullets even from moose regardless of angle. This is the load if you wish to shoot through two moose and a fire hydrant! Harold
