Valmet Accuracy....

This question is about the rifle not the optics.

Do any of you Valmet Hunter owners have your accuracy recorded? I am interrested in the size of your groups. Lookin for accuracy information on iorn sites and on scoped 'Hunters'.

Also, due to the gas port/tube being above the barrel, what size objective lens are most people running? Can a 33-40mm fit or are we cut back to less than 33mm ??????

With my M78 308 RPK Valmet using IVI rounds and the iron sights I shoot about 2-3" 5 shot groups at 100 meters using the factory bipod. I am not a heck of a shot with iron sights though... I am sure with a scope and a good scope mount and better ammo one could shrink the groups to just under 2" consistantly, most likely the 1.5" range. The M78 RPK was designed as a bullet hose, so I am not sure if this will apply to the Hunter, the Hunter could be more accurate for all I know.

my M78 in 223 will do 2-3" as well. this is off a sandbag. no scope.with a scope probly better.
