Valmet Hunter .223 Mag compatibility

Does anyone who owns a valmet hunter in .223/5.56 know if it will take any 5.56 ak magazines? I saw somewhere that it can take regular 7.62 x 39 ak mags but I want to know if it can take 5.56 ak mags as well. For example the bulgarian 5.56 ak-74 polymer magazines.

They cannot accept regular AK magazines. But AK-74 magazines can be modified to function in a Valmet hunter or M78. It’s pushing the envelope a little bit with regards to feed position/angle but it can be done.

So Velmet is Legal in Canada?. Pardon me I am novice.

Yep, the Valmet ak47 variants are the only legal variant in Canada. The general consensus is that it had something to do with a lot of them being owned by natives and the government not wanting to take away their rifles. Just like they recently said about not wanting to take the SKS away from natives because they use it for hunting.
