Hello all

Need to make some space in the safe; I have a "minty" Valmet M78 in .308 with only one mag. I've seen some crazy asking prices for these on the EE over the years and just wanting to get a ballpark of what its realistically worth.

I've seen them new around $3500, that was a couple months ago on irunguns. I think somewhere in the $2500-3500 range is reasonable depending on condition, and sometimes more if tasteful upgrades have been done. That's for the "hunters".

An actual M78 is probably worth much more, but I haven't seen them sold frequently enough to know a number.

Just be careful of folks saying they can import them cheaper and therefore you should discount it. They can’t.

The Valmets in Canada now are what we’ve got, there will not be a mass import of them anytime soon, if ever. Do factor this in when you list.

Bought mine off gunbroker last summer and imported it, ran me about $3600 after import fees and duties, haven't seen one come even close to the $2375 usd i paid for mine.
