Valmet owners, a favour please?

M76's, M71's and M62's are prohibs.

M78's and Hunter's are non-restricted.

You certainly would not want to shoot the Hunter / folder with no pistol grip. The fellow who originally took the pic was just showing how the adaptor installed on the Hunter.

Not that I wanna jinx them, but why arent the m78 and hunter prohibed as ak variants? I don't know anything about these rifles but a superficial look at them says they're pretty darn AK-ish

I heard and read, at the time when the hunter model was unrestricted, that someone in the ministry of justice had decided that it was "suitable for hunting." I believe it got an exemption on that basis.. It is a really nice deer rifle.. I actually am surprised that the M78 got off the hook.. after all it has that evil pistol grip and bipod.. If would be nice if they would give the AR15 the same deal..

more like someone in the ministry of injustice didn't think it would be good to prohibit a gun that another department had distributed to Inuit Canadians for free. There is NO significant difference between an AK and a Valmet - certainly less difference than there is between an AK and a Dragunov, but the Dragunov is prohib and the Valmet isn't.
