Just installed one in my 10/22. Every one of my favorite rounds feeds and extracts successfully from all 3 of my mags. Not a single jam. Never thought an extractor could make such a difference. Thought it might have been a waste of money, but I put one in anyways as I'd heard others post that their gun runs on any ammo after changing extractors.

My new 10 22 would jam on every clip at least once after I put the Vol. extractor in , now once in 500 rds. The Tuffer Buffer made it smoother also two good investments.

I was always removing the mag, locking the bolt back and clearing a jam, typically removing a mangled live round that was slamming into a FTE or dumping a live one on the ground. Very annoying. Thought it was the ammo itself. Maybe the stock extractor was good at one time and wore out. Not sure. Bought the action used.

A cheap, but effective fix for sure. My 10/22 would stove-pipe intermittently but now with the VQ extractor, I can rapid-fire or slow-fire with confidence, as it cycles beautifully now. For the low cost of the extractor, it makes one wonder why the 10/22 doesn't come with one, or one like it, in the first place.

I've changed quite a few parts on my 10/22. That's one of the reasons I bought it, a decent gun that has many great upgrades. Stock, barrel, trigger and the gun becomes whatever you want it to be.

10/22 's are awesome. I think the only thing remaining is the original receiver. everything else has been polished or replaced.

I just got my Vol Extractor and auto bolt release today from rimfiresports dot com. Took about 13 days. I had ordered an extended mag release, but it never came with the invoice say it was on backorder. They never charged me for it.

I would like to pick up some other items too like a hammer/sear kit to reduce the pull. Im gonna try and order thru Hawktech, Im hoping they ship quicker. :)

Both my 10/22s have one - fixed the intermittent stove pipes I had. Upgraded the hammer and bolt release as well. These simple upgrades make an enormous difference.

I always tell everybody before you even shoot your 10/22 change the extractor, my extractor right out of the box never worked well, even after 1000 rounds it was still terrible (other peoples experiences may vary). The Volq extractor hook is on a steeper angel and closer to the bolt face.

I just installed my Vol Extractor. Pretty easy. My only question is, that I noticed the spring is slightly shorter than the stock spring? Is that normal? I do think its a stiffer spring however.

Cheers

Does anyone know about some homemade pick tool for periodically cleaning something around the breech at the range? Is it the extractor groove that needs scraping from time to time if you are firing a brick at the range?
